ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jirí Slíva was born in Pilsen in 1947, and has lived in Prague since 1966. After graduating from the University of Economics he spent eight years working as a sociologist and futurologist before becoming a freelance cartoonist, illustrator, and graphic artist in 1979. In 1993 he joined the Hollar Association of Czech Graphic Artists. He plays the guitar in Graficanka, a group of Czech graphic artists. He has illustrated more than 170 books, as well as publishing twenty books of his cartoons.
