The Royal Pavilion at Brighton was constructed as the seaside pleasure palace of King George IV. The Long Gallery was used for guests to promenade and socialize. Its wallpaper depicts a bamboo grove with garden ornaments in light blue against sunset pink. The room also features imitation bamboo staircases made from cast iron with mahogany handrails.
