Plane and Space in Design

After graduating from the School of Applied Arts in Bratislava in 1958, Milan Veselý (1939 – 2015) worked for the Merkur advertising agency from 1958 to 1960. After 1960, he worked as a freelance artist, he was registered at the Slovak Fund of Fine Arts and became a member of the Union of Slovak Fine Artists. In 1963 he married Slovak actress Zita Furková and in 1990, Veselý founded the N&V DESIGN company. In the field of book graphic design and illustrations, Veselý collaborated with all of the well-known publishing houses. Veselý played a significant role in theater poster design and also designed posters for fashion exhibitions. The most prominent of his large, award-winning historical expositions was the exposition at the Slovak National Uprising Monument in Banská Bystrica in 2004 when the Monument was named Museum of the Year.
