ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Daniela Edmeier is a Managing Editor of Picturing Black History. She is a PhD Candidate in History at The Ohio State University, where she studies immigration, race and ethnicity, and settler colonialism in French Algeria. Damarius Johnson is a PhD Student at The Ohio State University. He is a public historian whose research examines intersecting traditions of Black museum-building in the United States and West Africa. Nicholas B. Breyfogle is a co-editor of the online magazines Origins: Current Events in Historical Perspective and Picturing Black History and Associate Professor of History at The Ohio State University and Director of the Harvey Goldberg Center for Excellence in Teaching.
