ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Oleksandr Shatokhin is an artist and children’s book illustrator who lives and works in Ukraine. His acclaimed wordless picture book Yellow Butterfly was created as a quiet, powerful response to the war in his homeland. He is also the author-illustrator of The Happiest Lion Cub, published by Red Comet Press. Little Hare Finds a Gift is his third book for English-language readers. Despite the ongoing conflict, he remains in Sumy with his family, continuing to create stories shaped by resilience, hope, and the enduring power of imagination.
